Adam
Adam’s passion for the outdoors has a great influence on his work. Currently, Adam’s focus is on climbing photography and creating unique images by employing climbing techniques to gain new perspectives. Through this, the viewer is able to experience elements of the sport through still images.
Lauren
Lauren’s passion in photography is exploring identity and self-representation through creative portraiture. Her current project focusses on examining the effect mental illness have on someone’s ability to communicate with the world and how they may be perceived by others.
Georgie
Georgie’s interest is exploring the concept of identity, more specifically, the obstructing of identity and not being able to express yourself. This has been done through the use of constructed shadow portraits to portray the truth of someone's identity being hidden behind the shadows.
Soph
Soph’s photographic practice explores numerous genres such as black and white, architectural, landscape, and reflection, with the occasional portrait, however Soph will be exhibiting a series of work which focuses on ‘Momento Mori’ from a Still Life / Vanitas perspective.
Scott
Scott’s passion for urban landscape and documentary photography first started in sixth form, when he needed to come up with ideas for his project at A-level. Growing up in the north east of England he had good access to many industry estates which featured many run-down buildings for him to document, this is what his current project will be based on.
Joe
Joe's work is based around the sleeping city and the melancholy feeling that is shown after people have gone to bed and the empty streets are left behind. Joe wants to change the perception of how the viewer sees the city change from a busy vibrant place to a quite cold place.
James
Owen is interested in many genres of photography including landscape, street, commercial and portraiture (in the studio) which he has practiced in recent years.
Now at Sheffield Hallam, he wants to further improve his portraits by taking them out of the studio. This has given Owen the chance to explore and make portraits outside of the university and in real-life situations.
